Under the direction of the Global Printing Manager, this position will work independently or in conjunction with local plant management, engineering, production and/or maintenance personnel to develop, guide and reinforce efficient and sustainable process improvements.
The core responsibility of this position will be to provide direction and guidance in the area of printing and laminating, which may include modifications of an existing process in order to deliver cost improvements, evaluates and qualifies alternative materials, initiate continuous process improvements projects throughout the region.
:Serve as a role model and be recognized as a leader and a process expert
:Provide leadership with Safety and ensure that safety is an integral part of all printing operations
:Lead continuous improvement activities at North American printing plants as needed
:Provide on:going technical guidance, training, and mentoring to plant management and operations personnel in both traditional and self:managed workforces
:Drive standardization across the region
:Implement new printing technologies across the region.
:Monitor and adjust continuous improvement efforts to achieve desired results in both traditional and self:managed workforces
:Develop and implement systems for plant management to provide effective communication, efficiencies, processes, and quality for the various processing activities
:Identify, develop, and communicate information to appropriate production disciplines relative to product quality and defect prevention, product disposition, and rework and/or repair activity
:Understand and respond to the requirements for new product introductions in terms of capacity planning and production process requirements
:Develop manufacturing budget plans to prioritize regional printing projects that enhance the ability to achieve key performance indicators
:Use Information Systems to extract and report relevant information and key performance indicators
:Work closely with plant management and operations personnel to implement, support, and follow:up on improvement measures to improve plant performance
:Travel with extended stay, as required
:Internal Interaction Required With Operations Personnel AND Support Personnel (i.e., Plant Management, Production Control, Process Engineering, Training, Human Resources, Accounting/Finance, Quality, etc.)
:External Interaction Required With Network of North America Printing Plants, Customer (End User), Graphics, Customer Service, Sales, Vendors
:Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred or a minimum of 10 years manufacturing process experience in flexographic printing, lamination or converting.
:Extensive experience in managing and driving printing improvements
:Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles
:Understanding of team dynamics and the importance of aligning team performance to support the ultimate achievement of business unit and company goals
