Job Description 13;
The primary purpose of this role is to manage the daily operation of the Main Lab in Simpsonville and to serve as the site Management Representative for our Safe Quality Foods (SQF) program.
Job Responsibilities 13;
:Plan and supervise the daily operation of the main lab to ensure staffing is adequate to meet all deadlines
:Lead and coordinate the site SQF program; lead the site SQF team; report program compliance to site leadership, plan and conduct audits, and maintain Level III Certification.
:Assume technical responsibilities including the operation of lab equipment as necessary to support the plant.
:Ensure lab is manned to meet production testing needs; this includes the scheduling of routine evening and weekend work to support production.
:Perform and document all performance management activities related to direct reports including reviews, recognition, counseling and disciplinary measures.
:Work with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to establish the quality of incoming raw materials, semi:finished and finished products.
:Communicate with Site Leadership, Purchasing, Production Control, Engineering, Operations, other site laboratories, and corporate laboratories regarding sample status and results.
:Coordinate round:robin or multi:site analyses to address network testing and analysis requirements.
:Lead the analytical and sample testing in support of include internal nonconformance, customer complaint, raw material and network:level investigations; prepare written reports of analyses and findings.
:Ensure measurement systems fully operational. Develop and maintain a calibration and maintenance schedule, and ensure planned work is done on:time.
:Schedule, facilitate and interpret Measurement System Analysis for all methods in the Main lab and satellite labs. Develop solutions to improve inadequate measurement systems.
:Implement and maintain verification standards for equipment in the Main lab and satellite labs.
:Develop and maintain lab training materials; train lab personnel on new techniques, equipment, and procedures.
:Ensure microbiological testing is completed in support of SQF certification.
:Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related field preferred
:Experience in an SQF:certified facility as a leader, coordinator or practitioner
:Working knowledge of statistical fundamentals
:At least 3 years in a supervisory role preferred
:Six sigma training a plus. Green or Black belt certification preferred.
:Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency.
:Excellent written and verbal communication skills
:Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
:Ability to supervise and schedule the work of others.
:Experience in a team environment; team building skills
