Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Motivated individual with experience in administration of Microsoft technology including Windows Server, SharePoint, SQL & Exchange. Network and VM experience required. Good interpersonal skills a must. Under general direction designs, supports, maintains, and evaluates computer networking and telecommunication systems; installs, configures, and maintains both physical and virtual computer server; maintains employee network, e-mail accounts; performs other related duties as assigned. This position will support customers and internal environments. This position requires 5+ years of experience in supporting software and hardware. Duties and Responsibilities: (This position may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in this classification.) Network Administration / Server Support: Oversees the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects; plans, designs and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems; assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving, Network Maintenance, Network Design and Implementation, Building Relationships, Resolving Conflict, Project Management, Developing Budgets, Promoting Process Improvement, System Administration, Operating Systems, Network Hardware Configuration, NT. Email / Internet / Systems Support: Establishes and maintains user e-mail accounts; provides e-mail training and software support, provides e-mail documentation and updates user manual as needed; manages anti-spam and anti-virus servers; researches and troubleshoots e-mail problems by reviewing mail logs, records, and network configurations; provides solutions to customer identified problems. Telecommunications Support: Accomplishes IT operational objectives by maintaining current system; evaluating, recommending, testing and installing new technology; contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change. Professional Improvement: Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations as assigned or desired. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience in computer science, information engineering or other related areas; such education should be at a level which demonstrates the ability to perform duties comparable to those listed herein; 5+ years of experience in all areas of local and wide area networks management and administration including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning, designing, implementation, and user support; experience installing and supporting Microsoft server technologies; experience supporting telecommunications equipment; working knowledge of standard operating systems, software packages, and software utilities; proper records maintenance and storage for local and distributed environments. Preferred Qualifications: Possession of a Network Administration Certificate is preferred. Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP Business One, SyteLine, Dynamics, Acumatica and manufacturing industry is a plus. Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint is a plus. Skill and Ability to: Works independently and as a team member, ability to adapt to a variety of customers and co-worker personalities, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all those contacted during the course of work, communicate effectively in both oral and written form, explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to customers and staff; read, interpret and apply technical instructions; keep current by reading, interpreting and applying information on technological changes and updates, prepare clear and concise written communications research technical manuals and guides to respond to user questions; prioritize requests, organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of activities and projects; ability to learn new software and hardware packages; adapt to changes in technology. Other Characteristics: Possession of a valid South Carolina driver’s license; ability and willingness to travel on work assignments; willingness to work additional hours during the week and/or weekend, if required. Technical Competencies: Server administration (Microsoft required, Unix a plus) ERP Installation and Administration (SAP Business One, Infor SyteLine, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, Acumatica, or SAP R3) - Preferred not required. Microsoft SharePoint Administration - Highly Preferred Active Directory, DNS/DHCP/NTFS/DFS/Print Servers Network Security and Infrastructure Exchange Server Architecture Database Administration ( SQL Server preferred, Oracle and HANNAH a plus) Virtual Servers (VMWare, Microsoft) On Premise and Cloud Administration Vendor Relationship Management (HP, Cisco, IBM, AT&T, Microsoft) Networking Platforms (Routers, switches, WAN, LAN, MAN, Internet Services) Disaster Recovery and Backup Utilities Microsoft Office Applications including 365 Voicemail Systems PC Services / Help-desk Experience Supervision of Staff: None. Position may at times lead, train or participate in work team assignments.
