Job Description This is Not a “Help Desk” position. Help Desk jobs stink like hot garbage. UNG has an immediate opening on one of our Spartanburg Support Teams. Although UNG does not have a “help desk”, the Support Team focuses on end-user support for a designated subset of clients. Members of this team experience a broad range of technical challenges and opportunities and interface with each client personally. This position is challenging, and anything but boring. Responsibilities: Provide technical support for computer hardware and software Resolve issues for clients via phone, in person, and remote access Document customer issues and resolutions Qualifications: * NOTE: We only hire the best. Candidates with experience in an MSP environment are desired Minimum of 3 years of experience with general desktop/application/user support. Team-oriented support professional with great customer relations skills and positive attitude Ability to build rapport with clients Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills Candidate must have a firm understanding of networking, as it pertains to Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Access Points, Servers, Desktops, and network peripherals. Common support areas include third-party applications, Microsoft applications, Microsoft OS, Remote Desktop Protocol, printing, email, mobile devices, and common network troubleshooting related to IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, VoIP, and wireless networking. Candidate needs to be able to manage multiple tasks and communicate with their assigned Support Team while updating documentation and internal ticketing system. Candidate must be self-motivated, able to quickly comprehend new technologies, eager to learn new technologies and continue to achieve related Certifications. Candidate must have excellent application support skills. Our various clients utilize dozens of third-party applications. Candidate must be able to learn these applications quickly and be able to support end-user daily operations. Members of this team have the opportunity to move to more specialized roles as their skill set improves.
