Clinical Trials Management Office position for ventralized clinical research billing.
NON CLINICAL PROFESSIONAL
Under the general guidance of the Director, Clinical Trials Management office, the CTMO Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for clinical research billing oversight throughout the institution. This includes development and implementation of billing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Financial Analyst will serve as a liaison between clinical research departments and Revenue Cylce throughout the research project life cycle to qualify studies for coverage, develop Medicare Coverage Analyses (billing plans) and monitor the claims and reimbursement process. In addition to overseeing research billling workflows, this position will serve as a resource for study budget development and assist in developing tools and methods to consistently track research financial performance. The Analyst will continually collaborate with research department managers and coordinators to identify pertinent information impacting clinical trial finances. Be proactive in distinguishing between billable (Standard of Care) and non-billable cost and ensure overall adherence to Federal compliance in the budgeting and billing process. This individual will also be a central resource to Program Administrators/Directors, Principal Investigators and research staff. This person serves as a primary resource in regards to the business aspects of clinical trial research and maintains appropriate records and databases.
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Health Care or related field
5 years experience in Revenue Cycle, Clinical Research, and/or health care related field
Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable)
In lieu of the Above Minimum Requirements
Other Required Experience
Familarity with facility and professional fee coding in order to asess appropriate CPT codes, research modifier and diagnosis codes - preferred.
Working knowledge of CMS guildelines in regards to clinical research billing of facility and professional billing processes - preferred.
