The Chief Accounting Officer or Corporate Controller will provide executive leadership and management of the organization's corporate accounting, tax, financial planning, and corporate governance platforms., Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Manage a diversified corporate accounting staff across several functions * Lead all financial reporting processes for internal and external audiences. Partner cross-functionally to design and create financial reporting leveraging information systems and data warehouse infrastructure. Provide financial analyses as needed * Provide leadership and strategic direction for the financial planning and forecasting process, including production of the annual budget * Maintain a rigorous system of automated and manual controls over accounting transactions * Manage the relationship with external assurance firm and auditors. Lead and manage all aspects of the annual financial statement audit * Partner with Human Resources to maintain and administer the payroll process in a timely manner * Establish and maintain a system of financial corporate governance for the organization. Maintain an orderly accounting records system, including comprehensive policies and procedures * Contribute to the development and administration of various corporate insurance, employee benefits, real estate, tax, and asset/liability management functions * Think critically and analytically to develop decision-making tools and communicate insights to improve operations, plan capital needs, and optimize business performance, This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. The daily schedule may vary from 8 am to 5 pm or 9 am to 6 pm. Hours may vary or exceed 40 in any given week depending on the needs of the business.* Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a public accounting firm, mature company, and/or division of a large corporation. * Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations. * Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations and standards (including preferred experience with SEC/SOX standards). Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting (for the income statement and balance sheet), rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis. * Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. * Experience with large transaction management and/or capital markets, preferred * Experience in complex, data-driven problem solving * Demonstrated self-initiative and drive in an ambiguous environment * Proficient in Microsoft Windows (Word and Excel) * Excellent logic and reasoning skills * Excellent leadership qualities * MBA or MS in quantitative field or emphasis (preferred) * Experience and knowledge of securitization (preferred) * 5+ years in consumer finance (preferred) * 5+ years in people management
